Meet Me
Hi, I’m Gianna!
I was called to this work through the pregnancy and birth of my daughter. While preparing for her journey into the world, I fell in love with everything pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Having a doula gave me unwavering support that not only will I remember for the rest of my life, but also led me to the realization that this is what I am meant to be doing for others. I am passionate about this work and this community of supporting families to allow them to achieve an empowered and positive birth experience!
After working with infants and toddlers for nearly a decade, and getting a degree in Childhood Studies I left that field of work to stay home while pregnant with my daughter. Though I like to think that the end of that journey got me started on the path to this one, so I will always be thankful for that. Now I get to take all of my experience and knowledge and use it to emotionally, physically and informationally support others and their families as they navigate pregnancy, birth and postpartum so that they feel empowered and informed in their decisions.
My doula style is very individualized and unbiased. I like to say that I go with whatever your flow is! My belief is that birth is a beautiful and inspiring experience and I want to support families with evidence-based information to help them get the essence of that experience.
When I am not working, I am spending my time outdoors walking, hiking, practicing yoga, foraging or gardening with my husband Alex, our daughter and our dog. If I happen to get some time to myself I am crocheting or nose deep in a book!
